Overview
Along the Tambopata River roughly 2 hours outside of Puerto Maldonado, Posada Amazonas is a high-end pioneering eco-lodge in the Amazon Rainforest. The lodge is operated by the local Ese Eja Tribe organization and employs people from the local community, participates in local conservation efforts and is a leader in educational programs in the region. The lodge offers "refined-but-rustic" (think high end linens in a room with bamboo walls) accommodations in a gorgeous, remote setting with abundant wildlife all around.
Experience
Below is how we generally recommend setting up stays at this property, but longer or shorter durations are also possible.
On arrival to Puerto Maldonado you will be met by the Posada Amazonas team and will make the journey up the Tambopata River to the lodge. The trip takes about an hour and a half to two hours depending on the season and stops along the way to view wildlife. On arrival you will be welcomed to the lodge and briefed on your stay for the upcoming days. Depending on arrival time you may have some time to explore or do an afternoon activity with your lodge guides.
You'll depart today for your next destination or to head home. Transportation will be scheduled accordingly.
